Grandpa Hays when Grandkids were small
I own this site, but it is not about me. You will find little here about my personal life, hobbies, family or pets. I describe parts of my biography in my books. Those are the parts that seemed relevant there. Beyond that, why would any reader care?

I authored the Grandpa Hays's series, Guide
to a successful life. I am a 76 year old man satisfied with my successful
and financially comfortable life. I was trained as a scientist, taught in a
university, then worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in natural
resource conservation. I retired very young.
My wife and I have been married since 1970, and raised two sons in
semi-rural northern Colorado. After a decade of living in the summer
alternating between the United States and New Zealand and a year in China, we
relocated and downsized. We now live in central Arizona.
As a scientist, I regard observations and evidence as more worthy
than opinions. I am convinced that humans evolved through natural selection,
and that the story of life on earth as currently understood is basically right.
I believe I now understand much about how human nature evolved to be different
from our closest relatives: the chimpanzees. This evolution happened during the
period starting when our lines split apart and ended with the rise of
civilization. I call this period (approximately 5 million-years) "The
Gap" because it is so poorly known. I believe that the roots of human
nature and natural law lie in The Gap. I am secular, so if you want answers
from religion, you should look elsewhere.
How to contact the project leader:
Robert L. (Grandpa) Hays is focusing on getting the series books
completed. He is not available for public interviews, speeches, or other
events. He can be communicated with via e-mail. He restricts contact by
strangers to those who are secular, accept Evolution by Natural Selection, and
base their ideas on evidence, rational analysis, and science.
He wants to hear from people who have insight human
nature, the meaning of life, and today's popular Western culture, including its
issues and problems. If you are coming from the same place he is, and want to
assist somehow on this project, he'd like to hear from you. He is seeking
qualified reviewers for draft book chapters. e-mail address: bob@grandpahays.xyz
